BMW will relaunch its recently purchased Alpina brand with upmarket designs that will sit between BMW’s high-performance M vehicles and Rolls-Royce, with Bentley and Mercedes’ upmarket Maybach models clearly in its sights.
BMW’s future lineup came into sharper focus last week when the brand’s US online shop accidentally listed several upcoming models ahead of schedule. The leak points to a handful of new vehicles set to arrive for the 2027 model year.
BMW started the press release for the second model of the modern-era Neue Klasse by saying “the BMW 3 Series is the essence of the BMW brand.” The compact executive nameplate has been around since May 1975, and last year it celebrated half a century on the market, which is quite frankly no small feat.
The first models to wear the new BMW Alpina badge will start from the top of the [BMW] brand, with 7 Series and the X7,” BMW Group R&D boss Joachim Post said to Autocar UK at the unveiling of the i3 electric sedan.
